Do I need to be a qualified diver to join?

You’ll need to be at least Open Water certified (PADI, SSI or equivalent) with 10 logged dives before joining this trip.That said, for the best experience, we highly recommend being (or becoming) an Advanced Open Water Diver. Some of the Red Sea’s most iconic sites, like the SS Thistlegorm, are deeper dives (around 30m). If you’re not certified to that depth, our lead instructor may ask you to sit out certain dives for safety reasons.Don’t worry, you’ll still have an amazing week in the water if you are an open water diver! But if you’d like to make the most of every dive, you can add your advanced course onto this trip. Can I bring my own dive equipment?

Yes, absolutely. We’ve made the package as inclusive as possible, so standard equipment rental is included in the price. If you prefer to bring all your own gear, we’ll give you a £150 discount.Just book as normal and select “bringing my own equipment” on the post-booking form, we’ll deduct it from your balance.
We only offer full rental or no rental (all in or all out) to keep things simple, but you’re welcome to bring a few personal bits if you prefer.

Will the group be split based on dive ability?

Yes! We split the group by experience level, usually into two or three smaller dive teams. It all depends a little on who books and the certifications everyone holds, but our goal is simple: to make sure everyone dives safely, comfortably and gets the most out of every dive. Whether you’re freshly certified or a seasoned diver, you’ll be paired with others at a similar level so you can focus on enjoying the experience.

Can I join the tour solo?

Absolutely! Most of our travellers come solo and make friends straight away. This trip is all about bringing people together and our group dynamic fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. Divers make the friendliest people after all.

Connectivity can be limited on the liveaboard and in remote areas. Consider purchasing a local SIM card or eSIM for more reliable internet access throughout your journey.

How much spending money should I bring?

The Red Sea trip is super budget-friendly, once you’re on the liveaboard, almost everything’s covered.The only extras to plan for are alcohol (sold onboard at fair prices) and crew tips, which aren’t included. It’s customary to tip around €100 per person for the crew, + a discretionary tip for your guide, so bring that in cash to hand over at the end of the week.We’d suggest budgeting around £150 for personal spending, things like souvenirs, snacks, or food and drinks on the final day ashore. Of course, you can spend more or less depending on your vibe.Pro tip: Use a travel card like Wise, Monzo or Starling to avoid foreign transaction fees and make payments hassle-free.

Is travel insurance required?

Yes, comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellations and diving activities is mandatory. Ensure your policy includes coverage for scuba diving up to 30 meters.

Who will I be roomed with on the tour?

Throughout the tour, you'll be roomed with someone of the same sex from the group. Do I need to be Nitrox qualified?

No, Nitrox isn't mandatory for our Red Sea trips, but we strongly recommend it.Nitrox can help reduce nitrogen exposure and may leave you feeling less fatigued over a week of repetitive diving. That can be particularly useful on a liveaboard, where you're doing multiple dives every day.It can also give you more no-decompression time at certain depths, which can be useful for longer dives and where the wreck and dive plan allow it, longer penetration dives.Is Nitrox worth doing?Absolutely.
